Dr. Oscar Noel Ocho

Dr. Oscar Noel Ocho is an accomplished professional in the field of nursing and medical sciences. He currently serves as the Director and Senior Lecturer at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Faculty of Medical Sciences. Dr. Ocho’s expertise lies in various areas, including public health, nursing science, medical science nursing, nursing research, health policy, nursing education, and nursing leadership. His commitment to advancing healthcare is evident through his active engagement in research, education, and public service.
Before joining UWI, Dr. Ocho held significant roles in the healthcare sector. Notably, he served as a Health Education Officer, Director of the Population Programme Unit, and Acting Chief Nursing Officer at the Ministry of Health in Trinidad and Tobago. His experience extends beyond national borders, as he has made oral presentations in his areas of expertise at local, regional, and international research conferences. Additionally, Dr. Ocho has contributed to scholarly knowledge by publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
