About This Workshop

“AI in Education: Demystifying AI for Educators” offers a practical and accessible exploration of AI tools, with a focus on how they can enhance teaching, personalize learning, and support classroom innovation. Led by Dr. Andrew Hunte, Head of the School of Humanities and Education at The UWI Five Islands Campus, the session will introduce participants to his original conceptual model for applying AI in education:

  • Student-Enabling AI
  • Teacher-Supporting AI
  • System-Monitoring AI

This model will be demonstrated through practical examples using Khanmigo, Khan Academy’s AI-powered learning assistant, to show how each approach can be applied in real classroom contexts to support student learning, teacher planning, and institutional effectiveness.

The workshop will also feature a keynote address by Mr. Sandeep Bapna, Vice President of International Partnerships at Khan Academy, who will provide insight into Khanmigo’s global impact and share best practices for integrating AI in education.

Join us to demystify artificial intelligence, explore its transformative potential, and gain practical strategies to confidently incorporate AI into your teaching practice.
