Wendy K. Jackson-DeSouza is a seasoned Human Resource Executive, aspiring entrepreneur, and passionate advocate for personal and professional growth. With over 29 years of service at the Medical Benefits Scheme, she currently serves as Executive Manager – Director of Human Resources, where she oversees five strategic operational areas and leads with a commitment to excellence, integrity, and people-first leadership.
Wendy holds a Master’s degree and multiple certifications in Business, Counselling, Occupational Safety & Health, and Human Resource Management. She is the current President of the Human Resource Professionals of Antigua and Barbuda (HRPAB), where she actively fosters professional development and ethical leadership across the field.
Raised in Buckley’s Village, Wendy has a deep-rooted passion for community and faith-based service. She has contributed to several national and community boards including the National Scholarship Committee, Buckley’s Community Group, and the Wesleyan and PAWI churches. She also serves as an Administrative Team member at Kentish Pentecostal Church and Interim President of the United Wesleyan Chorale.
Wendy thrives in close-knit group settings, values honest conversations, and finds joy in planning, connecting with others, and witnessing their growth. She believes in excellence—even in the smallest details—and lives by the mantra: “Anything worth doing is worth doing well.” Her guiding principle remains the Serenity Prayer: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.” This prayer, along with her belief in treating people with respect and compassion, continues to shape her journey and impact.
