Dr. Ilenius Ildephonce is a researcher and lecturer in Computer Science at the University of the West Indies, Five Islands Campus, where he also serves as Head of the School of Science, Computing, and Artificial Intelligence. Based in Antigua and Barbuda, his research centers on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital game design, with a strong focus on using science and technology to promote sustainable socio-economic development.
Dr. Ildephonce has contributed to several international and regional projects on the ethics of AI, including the Global Index on Responsible Artificial Intelligence (GIRAI) and the implementation of the UNESCO AI Readiness Assessment Methodology in Antigua and Barbuda. He is a passionate advocate for the ethical and responsible use of advanced technologies to tackle local and regional challenges.
He works closely with organizations to assess the impact of AI on critical infrastructure, evaluate their AI readiness, and identify strategic opportunities, that enhance operational efficiency. His approach emphasizes sustainability and equity in the deployment of AI solutions across core business functions.
