The University of the West Indies (UWI) Five Islands Campus is pleased to invite researchers, academics, policymakers, industry leaders, and students to submit papers for the 2nd UWI AI Conference. Under the themeBridging Digital Frontiers: AI Innovation for Caribbean Sustainability,” this conference aims to explore the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in fostering sustainable growth, innovation, and digital transformation across various sectors in the Caribbean and beyond.

We welcome submissions that explore AI’s role in advancing sustainability and digital transformation, including but not limited to the following thematic areas:

A. Abstract Submission:

Your submission should be submitted via the form below as a Word document which includes an abstract that is relevant to one of the conference sessions. Your Email message should be titled AI Conference Paper Submission.

Please format your abstract as follows:

  • Thematic Area : Indicate the thematic area from the listing above. (e.g., AI for Business & Financial) to which your paper is relevant.
  • Title of Paper: Provide a clear and concise title for your paper.
  • Author(s): List each author’s full name.
  • Institutional Affiliation: Include the institutional affiliation of each author.
  • Email Address(es): Provide the email address(es) of the author(s) for correspondence.
  • Abstract – The abstract may not exceed 300 words and should concisely summarize the key points of your paper
  • Up to six keywords

B. Paper Types: Select a category which most closely describes your intended paper. We note that some papers may fit into more than one category

CategoryGeneral Descriptions
Research PaperThis category covers papers which report on any type of research undertaken by the author(s). The research may involve the construction or testing of a model or framework, action research, testing of data, market research or surveys, empirical, scientific or clinical research.
ViewpointAny paper, where content is dependent on the author’s opinion and interpretation, should be included in this category; this also includes journalistic pieces.
Technical PaperDescribes and evaluates technical products, processes or services.
Conceptual PaperThese papers will not be based on research but will develop and test hypotheses. The papers are likely to be discursive and will cover philosophical discussions and comparative studies of others’ work and thinking.
Case StudiesCase studies describe actual interventions or experiences within organizations. They may well be subjective and will not generally report on research. A description of a hypothetical case study used as a teaching exercise would also fit into this category.
General ReviewThis category covers those papers which provide an overview or historical examination of some concept, technique or phenomena. The papers are likely to be more descriptive or instructional (“how to” papers) than discursive.

C. Author Biography:

Include a brief biography for each author, not exceeding 100 words per author. This biography should highlight the authors’ qualifications, expertise, and relevant background. Submit the biographies as a Word document using the form below.
