Indrani Bachan-Persad is a published author and researcher in Media and Politics in her country as well as a columnist writing on elections in Trinidad and Tobago. She created the first campus newspaper ‘UWIToday’ and was the founding editor for three years. She heads the Economic Engagement and Industry Partnerships Unit at the University Office of Planning and has developed several policies to engage the private sector and to corporatize the UWI. She was appointed by the Vice Chancellor as a One UWI Coordinator on Entrepreneurial Culture and conducted a comprehensive audit of entrepreneurial activities throughout the university while spearheading several entrepreneurial studies. Dr. Bachan-Persad was instrumental in conceptualizing the AI conference which she is co-chairing for the second year.
