Dr. Letetia Addison (pronounced Le-tee-seeya) is a lecturer, researcher, and statistician at The University of the West Indies (UWI) with over 15 years of experience advancing quantitative research and innovation in the Caribbean. Her work bridges multidisciplinary applications of artificial intelligence, data science, and mathematical modelling to solve pressing challenges in climate resilience and higher education, particularly in Small Island Developing States (SIDS). She led the award-winning AI4SIDS platform, which secured First Place in the COP29 Global AI Innovation Challenge (2024) and is currently leading several research initiatives aligned with data-driven disaster risk reduction. Dr. Addison is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and the Women in Data Science Ambassador for Trinidad and Tobago, where she champions inclusive data literacy and STEM leadership. She brings a unique perspective on applying AI for sustainable development, institutional transformation, and community impact.
